PJC Year-1 Syllabus

Syllabus PJC Year-1
This is the foundation of Vedic astrology where the teachings of the sage Parāśara are explained in scientific detail. The principles involved in each śloka must be understood to ensure a strong foundation. Dṛṣṭi (aspects) are all derived and are not random.

The highlight of this year is the initiation into the sacred mantra of Maharṣi Parāśara. Those who have attended the contact course have benefited by the initiation.

Jyotiṣa Paṇḍita

The Jyotiṣa Paṇḍita Certification examination can be taken by students after they complete the following academic years of study of the Parāśara Jyotiṣa Course.

PJC Year-1
PJC Year-2A
PJC Year-2B
PJC Year-3

Rules and Regulations
The examination and viva-voce is conducted by the DBC Examination Board constituted for the purpose by the Certification Head Steven Hubball. The decision of the Board can be appealed to the Certification Head and the decision of the Head is final and binding.

Students interested in Jyotiṣa Paṇḍita certification must inform the DBC Examinations Officer Mr. Ajay Zharotia.

Certification Optional

Certification is optional as jyotiṣa is a vedāñga or spirituality related discipline.
♦ Students who wish to become Teachers of any course or Mentors will have to be certified
♥ Students who wish to practice as professional consultants are encouraged to consider certification.
♠ Entitlements and Honors like Jaimini Scholar (JSP), Jyotiṣa Paṇḍita (PJC Year-3), Jyotiṣa Guru (PJC Year-5) or any similar recognition, will not be awarded to one who does not qualify the certification requirements
♣ Every Certification has its own process which is dependent on the Program (and Course).

PJC Overview

The Parāśara Jyotiṣa course is to be taught in the tradition of Puri, India and includes spiritual instructions to develop the mind in order to grasp the entire subject. The student is to develop a keen understanding of Vedic astrology and will master all the śloka of Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra (BPHS).

Syllabus
The syllabus primarily includes the jyotiṣa classic Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra as available today. The various chapters are grouped into various “Topics” to be covered in two parts – (A) Jyotiṣa Paṇḍita ( Four Academic Years) and (B) Jyotiṣa Guru (Two Academic Years).
